No Choice in the Matter! Modern civilization headed for collapse

No Choice in the Matter!

No Choice in the Matter ! My humble take, global warming ? Who knows, this could be a cycle, either way climate change is very real. Climate change is happening from my vantage point and has been happening for sometime now. On top of climate change, we at present are being caressed by Fukushima, a global catastrophe that we have yet to realize the implications of. The NASA funded study bellow, serves to confirm what we already know.  The global industrial complex and it’s institutions, are killing humanity.

Activist have been shouting awareness for thirty years or more, concerning the worlds unsustainable resource exploitation and capitalism’s fictional infinite resource expectation or assumption.  We the people are in the streets globally, as the industries oligarchs attempt to bind us back to a state of ignorance, such that we believed in fairy tales, kings and queens even, with brutal austerity measures meant to keep us ignorant of new age technological implications and down trodden, burdened in a unnecessary debt slave illusion.

With humanities communal understanding of it’s universally conscious self growing exponentially, it seems the plant is finally out growing the pot, threatening even to destroy it. We have no choice in the matter, but to change, as we are changing. I only suggest that we ease the growing pain and go with the flow, by empathizing with one another and changing what we value, to that which has worth.

A new study sponsored by Nasa’s Goddard Space Flight Center has highlighted the prospect that global industrial civilization could collapse in coming decades due to unsustainable resource exploitation and increasingly unequal wealth distribution.

Natural and social scientists develop new model of how ‘perfect storm’ of crises could unravel global system

A new study sponsored by Nasa’s Goddard Space Flight Center has highlighted the prospect that global industrial civilisation could collapse in coming decades due to unsustainable resource exploitation and increasingly unequal wealth distribution.

Noting that warnings of ‘collapse’ are often seen to be fringe or controversial, the study attempts to make sense of compelling historical data showing that “the process of rise-and-collapse is actually a recurrent cycle found throughout history.” Cases of severe civilisational disruption due to “precipitous collapse – often lasting centuries – have been quite common.”

The research project is based on a new cross-disciplinary ‘Human And Nature DYnamical’ (HANDY) model, led by applied mathematician Safa Motesharrei of the US National Science Foundation-supported National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center, in association with a team of natural and social scientists. The study based on the HANDY model has been accepted for publication in the peer-reviewed Elsevier journal, Ecological Economics.

It finds that according to the historical record even advanced, complex civilisations are susceptible to collapse, raising questions about the sustainability of modern civilisation:

“The fall of the Roman Empire, and the equally (if not more) advanced Han, Mauryan, and Gupta Empires, as well as so many advanced Mesopotamian Empires, are all testimony to the fact that advanced, sophisticated, complex, and creative civilizations can be both fragile and impermanent.”

By investigating the human-nature dynamics of these past cases of collapse, the project identifies the most salient interrelated factors which explain civilisational decline, and which may help determine the risk of collapse today: namely, Population, Climate, Water, Agriculture, and Energy.

Collapse (Part 1)

How could a civilization that mastered the planet suddenly Collapse? Inspired by the New York Times best-selling book “Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed”, NGC time travels 200 years into the future to see what the world would look like after civilization as we know it collapsed. Guided by author Jared Diamond, we’ll piece together the remarkable story of what on earth triggered our decline

Change what you value and change your world.

What do You Value?

What we value is indoctrinated into us by the societies we grow in and are not necessarily what we should value.

We value the wrong things the material, and money, opposed to the more tangible human life and relationships, that are more vital to our survival than anything else, save Air, Water and Food. EMPATHY can help us as it is the water of revolution, the key to us finally ending the struggle and the mistakes of the past. By empathizing with one another, we can relate to one another and build in all situations.

Desire is defined by The Merriam-Webster Dictionary as follows: 1) A strong wish: Longing, Craving 2) sexual urge or appetite 3) a formal request for action. Our desires are natural occurrences, but without restraint, become the path to enslavement. To capitalize on the whims of society, the world of business and politics count on the inability of humans to maintain self-control.

Professor Noam Chomsky speaks about the Bewildered Herd

The World needs people…
Who cannot be bought;
Whose word is their bond;
Who put character above wealth;
Who possess opinions and a will;
Who are larger than their vocations;
Who do not hesitate to take chances;
Who do not loose their individuality in a crowd;
Who will be as honest in small things as in great things;
Who will make no compromise with wrong;
Whose ambitions are not confined to their own selfish desires;
Who do not believe that shrewdness, cunning and hardheadedness are the best qualities for winning success;
Who are not ashamed or afraid to stand for the truth when it is unpopular;
Who can say “no” with emphasis, although the rest of the world says “yes”. ॐ

“If we use fuel to get our power, we are living on our capital and exhausting it rapidly.This method is barbarous and wantonly wasteful and will have to be stopped in the interest of coming generations.” ~ Nikola Tesla
