This Year’s Best-Kept Secret: The Next Generation of Community Radio !

I attended a webinar given by the Prometheus Project, for community driven radio stations, about a month back, in hopes that I could get a station going. I subsequently shared the opportunity as it is nation wide. I chose not to continue as I am not, and have not found an organization, that I feel comfortable affiliating myself or my work with. I see it as a great opportunity, for anyone that can make it happen. Money is not an issue, as most will come from non-profit fund raising and federal Grants. If you can do it, you will be blessing our communities with true and caring voices, able to speak truth to power.

About the Opportunity to Apply for Stations:

Between October 15 and 30 2013, the FCC will accept applications from community groups for low power FM (LPFM) FM radio licenses. Now, as our communities face profound economic and social challenges, the largest expansion of community radio in U.S. history offers a unique opportunity to unite people, build local civic participation, and create solutions.
